Zita Johann and Preston Foster, co-leads of the 1933 big city political drama The Man Who Dared, ride side-by-side on a “buddy” tricycle. The Fox Corporation film was inspired by real-life Chicago mayor Anton Cermak — killed during an assassination attempt on President Franklin Roosevelt. Johann co-starred in The Mummy, and later worked with — and married — John Houseman. Foster, who appeared in seven other films released the same year as The Man Who Dared, went on to star in Annie Oakley, The Last Days of Pompeii, Guadalcanal Diary and had scores of other movie and TV credits during his five-decade career.
