Warner Baxter walks his bike on the Fox backlot. Here’s the snipe, circa 1935: “NO FAD WITH HIM– Warner Baxter, Fox Films star, is not a convert to the new bicycle fad. He has been riding a wheel for more than five years and finds one a great convenience in covering distances on the studio lot. Here he is seen leaving the Cafe de Paris for his dressing room.”
The Cafe de Paris was the original name of the Fox commissary. Its mural of studio stars, unveiled in 1935, featured Baxter as the Cisco Kid– the role he made famous in the 1931 western.
