Terry Jones, as a head-traumaed cabbie and Michael Palin, as Mr. Pither, a gentleman riding his bike through West Cornwall, in a scene from the 1972 Monty Python episode “The Cycling Tour.” After one of his many crashes, Pither gets a lift from a taxi driver, Mr. Gulliver, played by Terry Jones. After Gulliver sustains a head injury, he becomes Irish pop singer Clodagh Rogers. Another head injury turns him into Trotsky. Of course! The only linear, full-length half-hour Monty Python episode, “The Cycling Tour” is notable for its bike-centric premise, but also for the late Jones’ tour-de-force performance(s).
