Rochelle Hudson signed to RKO in 1930, when she was 14, and played Natalie Wood’s mother in Rebel Without a Cause some 25 years later. In between, in a busy career, she appeared opposite Shirley Temple (Curly Top), W.C. Field (as his daughter, in Poppy) and Claudette Colbert (Imitation of Life). Her final film role was Dr. Terror’s Gallery of Horrors, in 1967.
Here’s the snipe from the photo, taken in 1936: “Rochelle Hudson, 20th Century-Fox player in ‘Reunion,’ rides at least three miles a day on her new bike. The raven haired beauty plays tennis, swims well and enjoys life in the great California outdoors.”
