The great American writer Ray Bradbury — also a great fan of cycling — rides his Raleigh road bike through his L.A. neighborhood. It’s July, 1971, and Bradbury’s fantasy novel, The Halloween Tree, would come out the following year. Among the screen adaptations of Bradbury’s writings: Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983) and the scarily prescient Fahrenheit 451, twice: Francois Truffaut’s take in 1966, and Ramin Bahrani’s in 2016.
