Pat Clark gives a cheerful wave as she rides the backlot at Warner Bros.. The actress signed to the studio in 1945, where she had small roles in Hotel Berlin, Pillow to Post, Too Young to Know and Night and Day. A few years later she rode over to MGM for the Spencer Tracy/Lana Turner romantic saga, Cass Timberlane. This cheery cycling photo was used to illustrate Josephine Lowman’s syndicated “Why Grow Old Annual Nine-Day Diet” newspaper feature. The caption: “THERE IS NO MAGIC formula which will make an overweight woman look like Actress Pat Clark, above. However, Josephine Lowman gives a formula of proper eating and exercise which will do the trick.”
