Mary Martin parks a bike, models leg o’mutton sleeves.
YESTERDAY’S GIRL went a’bicycling in togs like this! Mary Martin, starring with Allan Jones in Paramount’s “In the Gay Days of Victor Herbert,” wears a 1900 divided skirt of navy blue viscose wool and a shirtwaist of navy and white striped taffeta with leg o’mutton sleeves. Her high boots button in the fashion of the period and her straw sailor is pinned at a rakish angle with good old-fashioned hat-pins. Edith Head designed this authentic period costume.
