June Lang, signed to 20th Century Fox in the early Thirties, moved from small parts (“beauty contest contestant,” “girl at beach”) to lead roles in Bonnie Scotland (with Laurel and Hardy), The Road to Glory (with Frederic March and Lionel Barrymore) and Wee Willie Winkie, the Shirley Temple vehicle directed by John Ford.  This photo, by Gene Kornman,  was probably taken in 1935.
