Janet Munro, cycling around a motel parking lot between scenes of the 1959 Disney release Darby O’Gill and the Little People, has a passenger perched on her handlebars: that’s Jimmy O’Dea, in costume as the king of the leprechauns in the hit Gaelic fantasy. Sean Connery starred, Albert Sharpe played the title character (Munro’s dad in the film), and Munro, who was 24 at the time, won the Golden Globe New Star of the Year prize for her efforts.
