Ginger Rogers, the Hollywood star who danced opposite Fred Astaire in a series of sparkling musicals, poses alongside a bicycle in a Paramount publicity photo for her 1942 comedy, The Major and the Minor. And yes, Rogers rides a bike in the Billy Wilder-directed film. Rogers won the Best Actress Oscar a year earlier for her title performance in Kitty Foyle.

She gets a load of acting assignments, however, since in many scenes she must act like a twelve-year-old girl in posing as a minor.”
