Elinor Counts, whose name is a complete sentence and who sometimes spelled it Eleanor, sits atop a vintage penny-farthing bicycle. A fellow Elinor — Elinor Troy (sounds like “Helen of Troy”) — and Chic Johnson, half of the wildly popular comedy duo Olsen and Johnson (with Ole Olsen, of course), offer Counts some support. The project they’re all working on is the very meta 1943 Universal comedy Crazy House, about a pair of Broadway stars who return to Hollywood and their old studio, Universal. Mayhem and moviemaking ensue.
