A young Burgess Meredith does some stunt cycling on the RKO backlot between scenes of his 1936 film debut, Winterset. He starred in the same role on Broadway, before moving west. Meredith would appear in some 180 film and television productions over the course of his career, winning several Emmys and being nominated for two Oscars along the way.
