Paramount star and top-of-the-charts singer Betty Hutton hams it up for the studio photographer in a 1947 publicity shot. Preston Sturges’ The Miracle of Morgan’s Creek was the kind-of-manic Hutton’s big break, and her other hit films include Annie Get Your Gun, in which she played Annie Oakley. At the time she was perched  on the bike in this shot, The Perils of Pauline — a Technicolor comedy in which Hutton starred as Silent Screen icon Pearl White– was in theaters across the land.
